Ferial Day
The lowest rank in the liturgical calendar, corresponding to a day when there is no solemnity, feast or memorial. During Ordinary time, the Mass texts are those of the previous Sunday. During special seasons (Advent, Christmas time, Lent, Easter time), each ferial day has its own texts. The monks of Solesmes have a special devotion to ferial days, which is linked to their central devotion to the mystery of Christ.
