Chapter House

The chapter house is the community meeting room. Its name comes from the fact that, originally, a chapter (capitulum) of the Rule of St Benedict was read there after the office of Prime. The abbot gives a short spiritual talk there every day. It is also where community votes and various events in our family life (clothing ceremonies, admissions to the novitiate, etc.) take place.
