October 2015
At the beginning of the month, we were graced with the visit of Mgr Lebrun, an old friend of the community, who came to share our life of prayer in a week's retreat before his installation as the new archbishop of Rouen.
The monks were mobilized to do the grape picking within the cloister compound, a community task that we always enjoy; it is fruitful in more ways than one.
On the feast of the Dedication of our abbey church, we welcomed several monks of Silos (the celebrated spanish community) who accompanied a group of their oblates. The visit was a fine demonstration of the strong ties between the two abbeys.
In prayerful union with the entire Church, on the evening of the Sunday for Missions, we had an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and asked the “Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest”.
