Monastic life began at Solesmes in the year 1010. The charter of this foundation by Geoffroy de Sablé is still in our possesion, but excepting a few parts of the abbey church walls, nothing remains from this period.

We propose three routes to visit different parts of the monastery: The guided visit begins with the church, the center of monastic life, its two transepts and the choir, constructed in the 19th century. Continuing with the cloister and the monastic buildings, the visit will end in the private gardens of the monastery. (These last two parts are under construction.)
